3 Famous and Strange Scientists

Everything the people discover and learn about has originated from some work done by a scientist at some point. This is what makes scientists an important part of the past, present as well as the future. The most famous scientists have been rightfully given credit for some discovery they made that a huge difference in different sectors of people’s lives. Some of them are however considered strange due to some of the things they said or did. Below are three famous and strange scientists.

Nikola Tesla

Most of Tesla’s research was strange with some even considering them crazy. Other than producing long bolts of lightning that reached up to 135 feet, he also tried to invent particle guns that could be used to bring down planes, as well as anti-gravity flying machines. Although he also did work on AC electrical currents and X-rays, which were considered his best research work, his strange work became more intense as he grew older. He fell in love with a pigeon and believed the bird loved him back, believed he was in contact with extra-terrestrial beings and become obsessed with the number three as well as touching people’s hair.

Jose Delgado

Jose Delgado

As a scientist and a professor, Delgado became when he started working at Yale University where he also conducted some research on the physiology of humans. He started by implanting electrodes into the brains of primates in a bid to try to control their minds and when this didn’t work, he tried it on a bull. While doing this, he used a remote control to try to send radio frequencies to the primates’ brains to control them and got in the ring with the bull in a bid to control it using a transmitter. When all this failed, he resorted to using human beings in his research, but only managed to affect their aggressive behaviors.

Francis Crick

Francis Crick

As one of the people who made a discovery on the structures of DNA, Crick received recognition as well as Nobel Prize for his work. Because of this, he became one the most scientists considered role models by many generations of people. His fame shot to a new level after some of the strange claims he made on pseudoscientific theory that life on earth was a result of extra terrestrials’ seed. This happened in the 1970s and he became a strong advocate for this belief. Because of this claim, he became one of the strangest scientists since people saw this claim as something from a movie.
